About Us.
Our Mission.
To work with individuals, families and communities to prevent and reduce harm, to promote recovery and to challenge the inequalities linked to alcohol and drug misuse.
About Lifeline.
Established in Manchester in 1971, Lifeline is a national charity supporting individuals, families and communities affected by drugs and alcohol. Lifeline has grown and progressed through these past few decades, and continues to contribute to fundamental debate, policy and development surrounding the impact of substance misuse.
Lifeline has 43 years of experience of providing high quality services, delivered in-line with commissioning priorities and in accordance with local need. Lifeline delivers over 75 contracts across England, and currently employs over 800 members of staff and 230 volunteers - helping to support over 25,000 people affected by drug and alcohol.
About Lifeline BaSIS.
Opening on 1st April 2014, BaSIS is located within the Royal Arsenal Medical Centre, which itself is situated on the Berkley Homes Royal Arsenal Riverside development - two minutes walk from Woolwich Arsenal overheard and DLR stations.
Lifeline BaSIS is one of 8 services within the Southern Directorate of Lifeline, which all work closely together to provide mutual support and to share best practice. We will offer short interventions and time-limited, targeted support for adults who aim to become drug free or to reduce or control their drug or alcohol use.
We will support individuals with a wide range of substance misuse issues, such as cannabis, stimulants, legal highs, khat, and non-dependent alcohol use. Clients requiring more structured and ongoing support will be referred to appropriate partner agencies wherever possible.
